Colossal 2024-25 Budget Passes RTM In Record Time

On the evening of Monday, May 13, 2024, members of the Representative Town Committee (RTM) convened for a record breaking 90 minute session to approve a colossal $501 million dollar budget, the largest in the Town of Greenwich’s history.

If you have ever been an elected member of the RTM or attended these sessions, you are quite aware that meetings generally end very late into the evening and oftentimes into the wee hours of the night, which makes this passage all the more remarkable.

This budget represents a 4% increase which will likely raise the mill rate 2.8%. With a budget like this, keeping tax increases modest could become very difficult going forward.

Current Greenwich RTC Disguised as Republicans

Actually, it should not really be a surprise. After all, their only interest is keeping the status quo. In other words, keep vesting them with power and they will do what they do best: "bipartisanship."
