Greenwich Resident Satisfaction Survey 2023 - Taking Another Look
Greenwich residents may recall that a Resident Satisfaction Survey took place between November 15, 2023 and December 1, 2023.
With numerous concerns facing the Town, we decided to go back and take another look at the survey results and found a few interesting things that really concern Greenwich residents, namely, Education.
In January 2024, Probolsky Research presented their findings to the Town:
In in its report on page 1 of the "Town of Greenwich Resident Satisfaction Survey Representative Sample Results", they noted the following:
"Education services and schools present a challenge for the Town. While the majority of residents indicate that they are satisfied with the quality of education in Greenwich schools, this number has been declining in the last five years. There was a consistent theme in the data that residents are concerned about the infrastructure of the schools, as well as the quality of the curriculum. Across multiple open-ended responses, residents mentioned that school buildings needed to be updated and renovated, with some citing that they felt the infrastructure was unsafe. Pertaining to the curriculum, there was a small number of residents who raised concerns about political influence in schools. Many residents would like to see funding into Greenwich schools and education."
In other words, "Quality of education and the state of schools is the most important issue to Greenwich residents." This is clearly demonstrated on page 2 of the sample results in a graph that with the question, " What is the most important issue facing Greenwich today?" At 23.3%, residents said "Schools/Education was the most important issue.
The report "recommend clearly communicating with residents the Town’s plans for education improvements, particularly in capital projects. Infusion of politics into the school’s curriculum should be addressed directly with evidence-based information about the school’s curriculum, adherence to education best practices and regulations, and rankings/scores for the schools."

Greenwich Press Release 2023 Greenwich Resident Satisfaction Survey Results Here Education continues to be a growing concern and based on the survey numbers this is still the case. With declining quality of education numbers, politicization of our children's curriculum, wokeness and diversity agenda and the hiring of unqualified administrators, our education system appears to be in a free fall. The Board of Education had the opportunity, recently, to begin to bring quality education and declining numbers up. Instead, the Board chose to extend Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones' contract by an additional year. We wonder if the Board of Education actually read this report. If so, why did they vote the way they did? Numbers don't lie. We can and must do better. Every Board of Education member has an obligation to give our children the BEST possible education. Period. Unfortunately, we're not getting it and neither is the Board of Education. Are you paying attention yet? |
