Connecticut Finds Creative Ways to Grab More of Your Money

Many of you may have a received a "sticker shock" recently when you opened up your last Eversource bill. We've heard from a number of Greenwich residents who report there rates have gone up, in some cases by more than double.

Democrats have done everything in their power to destroy the energy sector in Connecticut and beyond all in the name "climate change" and getting away from fossil fuels in favor of alternate sources. Economists have been warning businesses and citizens alike that the liberal "green" agenda will have us paying more for everything, including our electric bill. This agenda is simply not working and will only cause more economic hardships for consumers who are already feeling the pinch of high inflation, high cost of living and the disaster called "Bidenomics," which Governor Ned Lamont (D) supports.

Connecticut already has one of the highest cost of living  and energy rates in the country. If this doesn't make you upset, it should. Nearly 28% of your bill amount goes to public benefit  government programs.

Essentially, this is another form of state legislators grabbing more money from you. To put it plainly, it's another tax that, you the taxpayer, do not benefit from. This is unjust and outrageous and EVERY politician should be called out on it.

State Senator Ryan Fazio (R), who is running for re-election, posted a video on X attempting to explain what the situation with this increase means. There's a  lot of talk but little to no action. This should not have really surprised anyone. Democrats have been warning us for a long time that we would be paying more for everything to fund their ridiculous and out of control agenda (taxpayers are subsidizing illegal aliens and the welfare state). What has Fazio been doing all this time. His "bi-partisanship" doesn't appear to be working. Meanwhile, the Greenwich RTC continues to ask "Did Fazio just save Greenwich?" The answer is no and we have the bills to prove it. We look forward to hearing about it when he does.

The question does remain: who will finally put an end to this insanity?
