Sen. JD Vance and Gov. Tim Walz VP Debate: Vance Came Prepared

Last night, Vice Presidential hopefuls Senator JD Vance of Ohio and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz met face to face for the first time in NYC for their presumably only Vice-Presidential debate.  The debate was hosted by CBS News and moderated by Norah O'Donnel and Margret Brennan, both of CBS News. Both moderators explained the rules they both Vance and Walz had agreed to and proceeded to begin the debate. An observation we made was that both moderators acted more like robots, than people. Fact-checking Vance first, then Walz later proved once more that legacy media can't be trusted. Both called them out immediately as fact checking was not agreed to by either.

Overall, the debate between Vance and Walz was cordial. At times, both were in some agreement about issues facing the nation, however, both differed in the approach. Vance showed empathy not only to the American people but to Walz directly, a true sign of character. Vance admitted his past shortcomings with Trump but became a believer and advocate for Trump after learning the legacy media consistently lied about Trump. Walz had some difficulty explaining his military service and his trips to China, while Vance, who strongly advocates for the sanctity of life and strong families did his best to answer questions regarding abortion, pointing out Minnesota statute that Walz signed for abortions up to nine months.

Vance had the advantage walking on to the debate stage. He was prepared to make his case for America First by reminding everyone of Trumps last term in office. Trump's record speaks for itself. Vance mentioned things were good under Trump, namely, the economy, closed borders, crime reduction, peace through strength and family values. Walz attempted to counter the border aspect of Vance's response stating that Trump never finished the wall. It appears Walz has a short memory. At the time, Congress sis everything in its power to defund the building the remainder of the wall only to later have the wall material sold off cheaply.

As for gun control, Walz's "sometimes it's just the guns" remark shows he doesn't understand where to place blame for gun crime. Guns don't shoot themselves. The vast majority of Americans are law abiding gun owners. While he made the claim that he and Kamala Harris are both gun owners, it's clear that if elected the Harris/Walz administration will go after Second Amendment rights.

They also touched on healthcare and rising costs and climate change.

We were a little disappointed that dangerous rhetoric from the legacy media, Democrats and their surrogates which resulted in two assassination attempts against President Trump were not brought up by any party. Also, the war in Ukraine, where billions upon billions of dollars are continually being sent to Zelensky.

All in all, Vance was able to perfectly make his case using the right temperament and demeanor. By showing empathy, he was able to connect with the American people and bring a message of hope and change.
