Trump-Biden 2024 Presidential Debate: What Did We We Actually See?
No doubt, millions of Americans across the country and
indeed across the world tuned in to the first 2024 Presidential Debate between
President Joe Biden (D) and former President Donald Trump (R). The debate was
hosted by CNN in Atlanta and moderated by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, both of whom are not
Trump supporters in the very least. Interestingly, there was no live audience. It is perhaps, one of the few times CNN could receive high ratings numbers. As the agreed upon rules of the debate were read out loud, we couldn’t help but
wonder what “gotcha traps” they had in store for Trump. We believe Democrats are
purposely showing Biden’s decline openly so they can prepare voters for a
possible replacement to come.
Despite the controversies and criticisms surrounding
his presidency, Trump demonstrated intelligence and wit during the debate,
perhaps winning over many undecided voters.
During the debate, Trump show cased his deep
understanding of policy issues and articulated his plans for the future of the
country. Trump wasted no time highlighting the failure of President Biden's
botched withdrawal from and the tragic events in Afghanistan that led to the
deaths of 13 U.S. service members. The deaths of these brave individuals who
were serving their country have left many Americans grieving and questioning
the decision-making that led to this loss of life.
Regarding Ukraine, Trump highlighted that the U.S.
continues to send over billions of dollars in taxpayer money, equipment and
arms to President Zelensky to “help” fight the Russian invasion of that
country. Trump made clear that if re-elected, he would broker and end the Russian-Ukrainian
War even before being sworn into office in January 0f 2025. Trump brought it
all home when he made clear that the United States looked weak on the world stage
and that Biden is weak. He went on to say that if Trump were in office that
Putin would have never invaded Ukraine.
He effectively outlined his vision for economic
growth, national security, and healthcare reform, challenging Biden's record
and presenting himself as a strong leader with a clear agenda.
One of the key moments in the debate was when Trump
addressed Biden's handling of the pandemic, pointing out the failures of the
current administration. He pointed out that Biden instituted ridiculous mandates
which caused a decline in the economy, loss of jobs and rising costs. This led
Biden to state he inherited a bad economy, high inflation, soaring grocery
costs and high unemployment. Most economists and voters completely disagree
with this assertion, which Trump immediately corrected him on all points.
Biden continued to state his agenda of taxing the very
rich up to “24% or 25%, whichever number.” Trump countered that revenue to fund
social security and the nation’s coffers should come from taxing imports from
countries such as China. He reiterated that under his administration more
businesses and jobs came back to the country along with the revenue associated
with them.

We waited patiently to see how long it would take
Biden to bring up Trump’s “convictions.” When it did finally surface and Biden
reminded viewers that Trump was a convicted “felon,” it backfired
spectacularly. Trump pointed out several things. First, Hunter was a convicted
felon but should have been convicted on more serious charges and that the DOJ allowed
the statute of limitations on those charges to lapse. He went on to say that
Hunter’s “laptop from Hell” was proven to be real and that legacy media and
Democrat’s insistence that it was Russian “disinformation” was debunked over
and over again. The fifty-one former CIA officials who signed a letter claiming
the laptop was disinformation only proved Trump was right. He made sure
Americans knew this. Second, that Biden has weaponized his DOJ (and FBI) to go
after his political opponents (and by extension parents at school board
meetings, etc.). He further went on to say that if he had not chosen to run for
president, Trump would not be facing the myriad of charges against and his
conviction would never have happened. In a lighthearted moment, Trump mentioned
that he could be at “one of my places” enjoying life but decided to enter the
race after seeing the disaster of the Biden Administration.
Trump's performance in the debate highlighted his
strong communication skills and strategic thinking. He effectively countered
Biden's attacks and pushed back against his opponent's criticisms with pointed
arguments and facts, show casing his sharp intellect and quick thinking.
Trump's performance in the 2024 debate also showed his
ability to adapt to the changing political landscape and connect with voters.
His message of strength and resilience resonated with many Americans,
particularly those who are disillusioned with the current state of politics.
Moreover, Trump's performance in the debate
highlighted his experience and leadership qualities, contrasting sharply with
Biden's more scripted and rehearsed responses. Overall, Trump's strong showing
in the 2024 presidential debate with Biden was a testament to his intelligence
and political acumen.
Throughout the debate Biden appeared to have a few “senior
moments,” often looking confused or angry.
Trump presented himself in a positive light throughout
the debate. Unlike Biden, he came with facts.
The second and last Presidential Debate is scheduled for September 10, 2024.
We wonder how the Greenwich RTC will react to the debate.
Perhaps First Selectman Fred Camillo (R), Selectwoman Lauren Rabin (R), State Senator Ryan Fazio (R) and the other Republican candidates would like to share their thoughts on how President Trump performed last night?
After all, they ARE Republicans, right?
