Wold: Why is Camillo Placing a Statue of George H.W. Bush at the WWI Monument ?
Submitted by David C. Wold, Greenwich Resident and Veteran:
Hearing the news at the Board of Selectmen meeting this past week, my first thought was, ‘that is a great idea’ but then a second thought came to mind, 'why on earth would Fred place a Statue of him at the WWI monument ?'
We have a monument ‘just up the street’ over the service men who did grow up with the President (and it lists those who did not come home),who served with him during WWII and maybe some served in his administration.
That is where anybody who was born after WWI and served in WWII, Korea or Vietnam should be honored, in my opinion.
Greenwich Post, American Legion at a meeting in the Armory, began a movement to have the honor roll at the Post Office Plaza removed and a monument erected in its place Read .
Just my input.
