Don't Ask State Senator Fazio About Trump: Living in the Bubble

As voters might expect, candidates running for office will usually canvass their districts to publicly ask voters what issues their concerned about and how, if elected or re-elected, how they will go about solving those issues. The conversation usually ends with asking said voters to vote for them because they are the better choice. Door knocking is common practice and it's good for candidates to get out there and meet with the electorate.

We came across this article in the CT Mirror published September 22, 2024. State Senator Ryan Fazio, who is running for re-election in the 36th Senate district which covers Greenwich and parts of Stamford and New Canaan. Fazio has had difficulty in either publicly supporting or endorsing former President Trump, who is running for President. This is quite mind boggling since both Fazio and Trump are Republicans. Why the lack of an endorsement and why does he not want to explain his lack thereof when questioned about it? To detract from this question, Fazio and other establishment Republicans will tell potential voters they are solely concerned with "local issues." Perhaps Fazio hasn't received the memo. Democrat policies, which Republicans like Fazio helped to enable, effects every single person in the United States at all levels. Bidenomics has a stranglehold on all of us, whether he wishes to admit this or not. To say he's only concerned with local issues is ridiculous and shows just out of touch he and other establishment Republicans are.

Ask Greenwich Sen. Ryan Fazio About Anything. Except Trump Read

Fazio would certainly have an advantage with Trump at the head of the ticket. Trump is popular and continues to gain more traction and endorsements with each passing day. In fact, polls continue to show Trump leading nationally with some Democrats leaving their party to register as Republican and openly endorse Trump. What do these former Democrats see that Fazio et al don't? They, along with millions of Americans, are fed up Democrats who have lost it and with do-nothing, whining, placeholder Republicans. Americans have made this abundantly clear time and time again. If we give Fazio another term, he will fix everything. Sound familiar? It should. Kamala Harris keeps preaching that "on day one, I will..." As everyone knows, she has the power to fix a lot of things because she is still in office but needs something to run on to distance herself from Joe Biden. This is the same page that Fazio and other establishment Republicans are using. What did he do last term?

The Connecticut GOP has been forced to support Trump as he is the Republican presidential nominee and to not do it would have possible election consequences down ticket. However, establishment Republicans still do not see fit to endorse trump. Has anyone in the GOP leadership sat down with these candidates to give them a reality check. Apparently not as evidenced by this article.

Connecticut has many issues, chief being that the state is in Democrat hands. Republicans must get out of the enabling game and stand up for true Republican values even if it doesn't seem popular. They should have the guts to support Trump and defend true Republican values. To do otherwise sends a signal that issues are not on the ballot but a personal agenda. Americans are fed up with Democrats and establishment Republicans being two sides of the same coin. It's time for change and we want it now. Stop all the promises that another term will fix this. Career politicians are just that, career. It's become a job, not an opportunity for improvement and change. The "Other One" is Donald J. Trump. Fazio pretending Trump doesn't exist may not work well in his favor. In his last election, he won by a very slim majority, under 51%. Democrat Nick Simmons, who is also vying to replace Fazio, appears to be picking up steam by riding on the top of the ticket coat tails.

We are using this opportunity to ask Fazio why Trump is off limits.

What Americans want are agents of change - real change.
Fazio et al want the same establishment swamp. No thanks. Perhaps they should read that memo again, step back into reality and represent their voter base.
