Greenwich Affordable Housing Trust: Meeting Minutes?

On Friday, September 27, 2024, members of the Greenwich Affordable Housing Trust met to discuss a singular item: "Discuss Mason Street." You may not be familiar with this item and that is understandable.

While the Trust did offer the public a virtual zoom attendance, many residents simply could not get on because of work or other reasons since the meeting was scheduled for 9:30am that day. With that in mind, we decided to go to the Greenwich Town website to gather some information on what the Trust has been discussing and approving. We would like to say we were shocked but that is not the case here because it appears more and more information is not being made public. In the case of the Trust, an agenda was made public with links for the Zoom and dial in. This was only beneficial to those who were actually able to join, listen and participate. If you missed the Zoom, you were out of luck. Like us, some of our readers were wondering about the same thing: Where are the minutes and recorded video? There are none. In fact, if you click on their "minutes" tab on their page of the Town website, you will not find any minutes or recorded videos. It appears the last time any transcripts or audio was publicly available was April 2, 2024.

We don't think we're missing anything here except the minutes and recorded videos. Public information should not be so difficult to find if it exists. This information, as a matter of transparency, should be readily available anytime an informed Greenwich resident is looking for it.
