Mr. Wold reached out to us publicly re-submit a March 2023 letter he wrote to the First Selectman's Office after receiving no response.

The below issue remains unanswered now after nearly 12 months, so do we really need to approach the ‘Peoples Hall’ with a FOI Ac to see if ‘finding solutions’ has even been tried/done/discussed “with others” for the “betterment of my town" since the first time I asked via ‘civil engagement’ to your office or Town Hall Departments for answers??

If so, then I ask First Selectman’s office to publish on their list of FOI Act requests, 1) when was the subject first brought up to Town Hall, and 2) at what date was the FOI Act answered!!

This is the email that was sent to the First Selectmen's Office in March 2023:

Two weeks has passed and recalling the friendly advice from so 'many in “Town Hall' I have tried to limit the number of emails on the same subject, but with no reply from our Municipal offices, I find it necessary to send reminders (not moving onto FOIA which I understand these same people are complaining that citizens are abusing).

So, all in all, 2 weeks passed and before BOS meeting tomorrow I raise the questions again, as otherwise I will bring it up at the BOS meeting.

Questions:

2 benches in front of DHSR was the MI plan - we have today one today. Where is the second one?

The current old bench on Mckinney Terrace/Byram School property - Who donated that one, and why was the Veterans donated bench last year also placed on the leased land for Housing Authority? Byram Veterans Memorial Parks was specifically GPS drawn up that it is amazing to see both benches placed outside this area.

Is this due to the specific language in the resolution requested by DPW and approved by BOS on November 23, 2021, meeting? (we now see from the ‘site plan’ for the EMM Park explains the ‘odd’ shape requested by DPW for the Byram Veterans Memorial Park).

The 2nd bench request last year (donated in memory of my wife) was denied inside the Byram Veterans Memorial Grove (I see that in the EMM Park enhancement site plan has no seating area and ‘forever protected’ at the request of DPW).

Does that mean there will never be seating or alterations to path’s pattern etc. within those lines? (‘Nothing’ will be done there except for the specific wording of the resolution “This maintenance agreement also includes any and all work needed on the playscape that is
divided by the dedicated line?”

Current 'site plan' that should enhance the EMM Park has no new benches in the park at all (normally, the plans would have a 'dent out' along any path/sidewalks etc., if there was an intention to install benches.

Is this intentional done to 'save greenspace' in the fine calculated ‘loss’ that was described as ‘less than a parking space’? We have zero benches/ADA 'rest stops' on the 'half mile' of new walkways or 'pick/drop off areas etc.).

2nd issue:

Regarding he plaque from National Historical Register for Byram School; when can we install same? (did earlier request to coordinate with the lease holders have given zero response?).

As mentioned, DPW had no issues with placing the Veterans bench on the leased school property, why is the process of placement of the plaque now running into its 2nd year?? The drawing shows the current one bench and the location of 2nd bench – both at McKinney Terr leased area – taken from the site application for the whole EMM Park that does not include these 2 locations).

3rd issue

The flagpole outside of McKinney Terrace – it was taken down nearly 3 years ago. When will the Town of Greenwich reinstall it and why no flagpole at Armstrong Court?  It was, after all, it was built to “welcome home” veterans.

The above issue remains unanswered now after nearly 12 months, so do we really need to approach the ‘Peoples Hall’ with a FOI Act, to see if ‘finding solutions’ has even been tried/done/discussed “with others” for the “betterment of my town,” since the first time I asked via ‘civil engagement’ your office or Town Hall Departments for answers??

If so, then I ask First Selectman’s office to publish on their list of FOI Act requests,

1) When was the subject first brought up to Town Hall?

2) At what date was the FOI Act answered!!
