Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation Meeting, October 21, 2024

Image
Screenshot, BET (GCTV) The Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation recently held their meeting on Monday, October 21, 2024, Topic discussions included: The impact of changes in motor vehicle pricing on taxation. Approximately 1,400 trailers and ATVs will no longer be taxed, resulting in a loss of around $33,000 in taxes. The assessment for these trailers was approximately $2.8 million.  Instead of using the actual market value of the car, assessments will now be based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the car. This means that the depreciation of the car will no longer be considered. This change may result in a loss of around 12% of the motor vehicle valuation and approximately $1.5 million in tax revenue. To track the value of motor vehicles, the Department of Motor Vehicles (CTDMV) provides a list of all the vehicles to the town. The town's vendor then prices most of the cars using the MSRP and a depreciation schedule outlined in the statute. Howeve

Ranked Choice Voting is Another Method of Voter Fraud

However, this system is not truly democratic for a variety of reasons. One of the key criticisms is that it can be confusing and complex for voters to understand. In order for the system to work effectively, voters must rank candidates in order of preference, which can be difficult for some individuals to navigate. This system can lead to a lack of transparency and accountability in the election process. With traditional voting systems, the candidate with the most votes wins, providing a clear and straightforward outcome. However, ranked choice voting introduces the possibility of multiple rounds of v

Make a Plan To Vote and Say No To HRJ 1

We understand the sentiment surrounding voting by mail and the preference for showing up on Election Day—it’s part of the tradition for many Republicans. But we have to face the reality: times have changed, and we need to embrace every tool available to us. If we don’t, the Democrats will, and we’ll be left behind. While Election Day voting remains essential, we can’t afford to overlook absentee voting or early voting. These options are attractive to a lot of people and allow us to secure votes well ahead of the rush. The truth is, the more we focus on voting early, the better chance we have of turning out Republican voters and ensuring our voices are heard. It’s time to focus on encouraging people to vote early and vote Republican. By doing so, we will increase turnout and give ourselves the strategic advantage we need to win. Let’s embrace the future and use every opportunity to strengthen our movement! Your consistent participation as a reliable voter is essential to shaping
